Great Basin Desert, North America, is a temperate desert that experiences a rain shadow effect resulting from the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains, and is characterised by basin and range topography. “The collection site is a localised migrated dune complex of the Little Sahara Dune field on the edge of an alfalfa field. The sample collected is medium to darker brown in colour, uniform fine grain size of sub-rounded to rounded quartz sand grains. The sample site is a farming community where sand dunes are migrating and encroaching on cultivated farmland”. Jerry Bergosh
